th ship companyeI expected lots of high adrenaline sailing and being busy busy busy, cos that’s what I’m like. I was anxious about the group time and didn’t like talking about how I felt, I sort of go blank. But when the others shared what it felt like for them I got really anxious, frightened and felt worthless. But Richard gave me a really good piece of advice to talk about the physical sensations, where in my body i was feeling whatever, and so slowly i could explore what was going on for me, it was like a door opening.

The sailing was slow and the weather hot so there was a lot of sitting with me and I don’t, correct didn’t like me. I believed in blotting out the past, ‘it’s happened, can’t change it so don’t go there’ but after one group where I shared my past and cried and bit latter I realized i could look in the mirror and see me.  I feel OK today, I don’t ever  remember when I could look in the mirror and feel ok about myself, today I did, thank you, and this will change my life, when can I come again ?.”
